Martyrdom: Verses 3:151-158 show that mu'mins are willing to kill and get killed in the cause of God. Writing about the death of the cruel and the ruthless, ex-diplomat Machiavelli observed in his book The Prince: "...such-like deaths, which are deliberately inflicted with a resolved and desperate courage, cannot be avoided by princes, because anyone who does not fear to die can  inflict them." To take a life requires courage, and to give your life in the cause of God is not only brave, it is the ultimate sacrifice.
