ADAM, IBLEES, SATAN & JANNAH The verses of the the book Quran are explained with the help of vibrant and living symbols or signs or illustrations termed as Ayaat ( آيَاتٌ ) in the Arabic language. These ayaats help us in decoding the parables [misaal] of the book Quran. The basic purpose of any ayaat, sign or symbol or language is to show direction, to guide on the basis of which a person or a thing can be known or understood. Ayaat or signs must always be clear and tangible. An important point to be noted about an ‘ayaat’ is that the ayaat [signs] are only understood the person of knowledge or those with information. The principle of sign [ayaat] in Quranic context is that they are always valid, clear, present or can be easily understood by any individuals with the basic knowledge of self.
